Supervisor House Registered Nurse New

Position Summary: Supervises and coordinates the activities of nursing personnel within the hours of the assigned shift; maintains standards of patient care and manages unplanned events occurring during the shift toward a successful outcome; assists in and makes recommendations to Department Directors in the process of long term discipline, retention, termination, and performance evaluation; assumes responsibility for staff development during the assigned shift in accordance with the staff development plans of the Directors

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Assists in maintaining the Hospital’s and Nursing Service’s philosophy through effective nursing care.
• Makes staffing adjustments to meet patient care needs.
• Approves overtime.
• Controls staff by taking appropriate and corrective action.
• Immediately investigates patient care incidents.
• Maintains effective communication with the staff and Nursing Administration.
• Promotes interdepartmental relationships.
  
  

Required:

• Must have current RN license in the State of Michigan
• Must have had at least two (2) years of nursing experience
• BLS Certification through American Heart or American Red Cross
• ACLS certification within 3 months of accepting position
  
  

Preferred:

• Bachelors of Science in Nursing
• Supervisory experience
